Yesterday was a rough day for Superbaby (and Mommy). She had an eye exam which required two rounds of eye drops and from the looks of it some sort of medieval device that holds the eyelids open. It left marks. I wasn't happy. This poor baby wasn't either, I could hear her cries from the waiting area:
She had the same sad, grumpy look on her face the whole day. The nurse was saying this is a textbook "I'm stressed" sign for a NICU baby:
I'd say so. The VERY good news is that there are currently no signs of ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity). A second exam will be done in a few weeks.
It was so warm here yesterday I decided to take the Little Flower to the playground near our house. All I can say is it's going to be a fun summer! She had so much fun exploring. When we arrived we were the only people there and she asked "Where'd kids go?" I explained that I was the only fun Mommy in town:)
People really get out and enjoy it when the weather is nice here. It's one of the things we love about Wisconsin. The Winter is brutal at times but it really makes you enjoy the Spring!

Ugghhh...I must say those eye exams are the WORST! I had to actually hold LongRifle for her follow up exam AFTER we were discharged from the NICU, it was TERRIBLE---I had to restrain myself from punching and kicking that doctor myself. Needless to say we switched docs for the following follow-up and SHE was MUCH better!
Glad you and LittleFlower had such a beautiful day at the park. We're trying to take full advantage of those bright sunshiny days!
Hugs & Blessings!
